What is Dexter Byte?
Dexter Byte is an Expert Advisor (a trading robot) for MetaTrader 5 that trades gold (XAUUSD) on the 5-minute chart. It places a buy stop above and a sell stop below the price, cancels the other side once one fills, and manages the trade with a stop loss, a break-even stop and a trailing stop.
Does Dexter guarantee profit?
No. No trading software can. Gold moves fast and there will be losing trades, losing days and losing weeks. Dexter's job is to follow the same rules every time, with a stop loss on every trade. Test it on a demo account first and only trade with money you can afford to lose.
Which broker and account do I need?
Any broker that offers MetaTrader 5 and gold (XAUUSD, sometimes called GOLD or XAUUSD+). Because Dexter trades small, fast moves, a low-spread account (often called RAW or ECN) usually fits best. Dexter works on hedging and netting accounts.
How much money do I need?
It depends on your broker's minimum lot size and the risk you choose. With the default stop loss, one 0.01 lot trade on gold risks about $1. At 1% risk per trade that means a balance of roughly $100 or more. A bigger balance gives the risk setting more room to size positions accurately.
Can I change the settings?
You choose one thing: risk per trade, from 0.1% to 5% of your balance. Everything else (entry distance, stop loss, break-even, trailing and filters) is fixed, so every Dexter runs the same tested rules.
Does it work on a Mac?
Yes, MetaTrader 5 runs on Mac. For 24/5 trading we recommend a VPS, because Dexter stops when your computer sleeps or closes. See running an EA on a VPS.
Can Dexter access my money or password?
No. Dexter runs inside your own MetaTrader terminal. It never asks for your password and cannot withdraw funds. Once an hour it sends your MT5 account number to our licence server to confirm your licence is active.
How does the licence work?
A licence is linked to one live MT5 account number. Demo accounts are free and need no licence. Running Dexter on more live accounts needs one licence per account.
How do I pay? Is it a subscription?
You pay with crypto (USDT, BTC, ETH and more) through NOWPayments. Each payment is a one-off purchase for 1, 3 or 12 months. Nothing is charged automatically. Dexter reminds you three days before your licence ends.
Can I get a refund?
Because you can test Dexter on a demo account for free before buying, payments are non-refundable once the licence is active.
What happens when my licence ends?
Dexter stops placing new orders. A trade that is already open keeps its stop loss on the server. Renew and Dexter continues within an hour.
Do you publish results?
We are building a verified, independently tracked live record. Until then, the honest way to judge Dexter is to run it yourself on a demo account at your own broker, with your own spreads.
